Talk on Seven Habits of The Highly Effective People

Some 80 participants gathered at the CDAC Auditorium to attend the talk on 7 Habits of the Highly Effective People on 26 Februrary 2005 afternoon . This is one of the few enrichment talks on such topic conducted in Mandarin in Singapore. Based on the book by Stephen Covey, the speaker, Mr Loy Siang Teng, a Director in National Computer Systems, enlightened the audience on the seven habits that one can inculcate so as to change oneself for the betterment of his/herr family and working live. During the talk, many simplified and lively examples were cited by Mr Loy to allow the audience a better grasp of the principles and the various techniques in developing the habits of perceiving and acting for productivity, better time management, positive thinking,“procactive muscles and much more.

This is indeed enriching. I have a better idea of the techniques that I can use to improve my interpersonal relationship with family, friends and colleagues. I hope CDAC will organize more of such talks, commented participant Ms Fu Feng Choon.

The crowd mingled among themselves during tea reception and bade farewell after the 3-hour of inspirational session.

The Skills Training Committee has been embarking on organizing enrichment programmes for adult workers. Through the delivery of talks and workshops on motivational and job enhancement topics, we hope that workers will be able to build up their soft skills in addition to the skills training programmes that they have been attending. With the encouraging response, we will be offering more of such programmes during the year so watch out!
