ENHANCED BASIC SECURITY COURSE


 

INTRODUCTION

The aim of this course is to equip the participants with the ability, knowledge, and skills of two units of competencies under the National Skills Recognition System (NSRS) for the Security Manpower industry, through vigorous training in both theory and practical applications of its standard as stipulate din the skills standard, and through alignment to these skills standard.  The units of competencies are Provide Guard and Patrol Duties (NSC-3) and Provide Incident Management Services (NSC-2).

Duties and Responsibilities of a Security Officer

Handling Situation and Incidents including Handling Bomb Threat

Relations with Public Law Enforcement

Legal Authority of a Security Officer

Professionalism and Ethics

Customer Service and Public Relations

Verbal Written Report and Notes- Taking

Evidence Protection and Preservation

Fire Fighting and First Aid Training

Court Protocol; Basic Safety and Defence Tactics

Practical Training - Providing Guard and Patrol Services

Practical Training - Providing Incident Management Services

COURSE DURATION

ASSESSMENT

Certificates of attendance will be awarded upon successful completion of 75% of the course.  NSRS certificate/s will also be issued upon passing the NSRS assessment/s successfully.

NSRS assessment is for Skills Standard on Provide Guard and Patrol Duties as well as Provide Incident Management Services will be conducted on the fifth day of the course at the Training Centre
